Ignas Krunglevicius

Ignas Krunglevicius (b. 1979) is from Kaunas in Lithuania, but he has worked and lived in Oslo since 2001. He works as a visual artist and composer, and is currently taking a master’s degree in composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music. In his later works he holds performances and installations combining sound and image. Both parts are reduced to the absolute essential: On screen – only text and three colours. The music – only pulse and singular tones, in return, quite energetic ones. This way, the transmission of information to the audience is amplified to the maximum, while the installation itself becomes a machine generating meaning.

Among the themes he addresses are: power struggle, mechanisms for mind control and violent inter-human relationships, psychopaths and their ideas, police interviews, relative strength between sexes and the manipulation in the media.
