Mick Barr is a composer and avantagarde metal guitarist from the United States. Apart from his performances as a solo guitarist, he is one half of the duo Orthelm, signed to the Mike Patton label Ipecac Recordings and John Zorn’s Tzadik. As a solo artist, he goes by the names of Ocrilim and Octis, where the record Anoint is described as “a masterpiece in avant-metal and experimental composing.”

Barr combines maximalism and minimalism in 100 per cent memorized compositions for electric guitar with a complexity that by several people has been described as autism. Meanwhile he is not able to read notations. When not touring, he resides in New York City.
