Erik Dæhlin
Erik Dæhlin (b. 1976) studied percussion at the Academy of Music in Tromsø. He has also composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Dæhlin is particularly concerned with the genres of instrumental and music theatre, in which the performer’s expression extends beyond the mere musical material, and in the context of what form of performance is chosen. This interest is partly rooted in the NING ensemble, in which he started as percussion player in 1997 and whose focus was precisely on an extended performer perspective.
He has worked actively as composer since 1997. Dæhlin composed both solo and chamber music, as well as electro-acoustic music for the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the MiN Ensemble and Liv Glaser. His music has been performed at the World Music Days in Hong Kong and several European and Nordic venues and concert halls.
