The German ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten has been heavily involved in the development of modern sce- nic repertoire and vocal technique since 1984.
The German word spektakel , meaning either a party or a brawl, serves as the basis for this evening’s main work by Hannes Seidl and Daniel Kötter. The work explores the distinction between work and leisure, with the singers on the stage interacting with video-images of themselves. The vocal ensemble will also perform works by the Greek composer Georges Aperghis and the Palestinian–Israeli composer Samir Odeh-Tamimi.
Refined culture joins unrefined nature when Sámi singer Johan Sara Jr. takes over Riksscenen in a new musical gathering of nomadic musicians from southern Egypt.
