Electronic music by Arne Nordheim (1931-2010)

This evening is dedicated to Arne Nordheim, Norway’s greatest composer after Grieg, starting with Solitaire from 1968. Next up is Poly-Poly from 1970 which, according to Nordheim himself, is “a kaleidoscope of sound”. This work was first presented at the Norwegian pavilion at the World Exhibition in Osaka.

Then Eldbjørg Hemsing on violin and Mats Claesson on electronics perform Partita für Paul from 1985, for a Paul Klee exhibition. Pace is an electronic work commissioned by Polish Radio in 1970. Finally, we will hear Vevnad from 1993, a tribute to the textile artist Hannah Ryggen.
