Cikada Quartet and guitarist Thomas Kjekstad invites you into the sound of two world premieres.

In this concert, roles and perspectives are exchanged, whether the audience sits around the musicians or the musicians sit around the audience. “If you are lucky, you will become dizzy from the loudspeakers that circle around you and chop up the sound into flickers” says Knut Olaf Sunde about Vertigo Room. In the first performance of têla by Ragnhild Berstad, guitarist Thomas Kjekstad strums the strings with thimbles made of glass. The têla comes from the Latin for web, and a ho- mogeneous web was Georg Fr. Haas’ first idea be- hind String Quartet no. 5 be- fore he, too, decided
to shift perspective by spreading the instruments around the room.
