Our picture is Continuous Fraction is a dance and musical piece, but also a vivid picture – a landscape of dreams.
What happens if we take a step back and view life as one big, solitary picture composed of a series of fragments of minor incidents? Through movement and standstill– music, dance and scenic installation – this dream-like landscape is explored by composer Erik Dæhlin, choreographer Therese Markhus and scenographer Christina Lindgren. Dæhlin has been occupied with the way photography has influenced us mentally, as a concept, where in many ways we crosscut our own life, our understanding of it, and our memory of the events it consists of. Inspired by the expression tableau vivant, this image is conveyed through live dance and music by dancer Kristin Søetorp and the music ensemble Ning: Amund Sjølie Sveen, Rasmus Jørgensen and Tora Ferner Lange.
