Founded in early 2010, Ensemble Aksiom comprises nine members from the contemporary music community at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

The ensemble’s version of Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun is part of a project called Radbrekk , where classics are presented in new forms, similar to what Lutosławski did in his Variations over a theme by Paganini, while Irrganger is a new piece written by student composer Martin Rane Bauck.

Witold Lutoslawski (PL) (1913 – 1994): Variations of a theme by Paganini for two pianos (1941)
Simon Steen-Andersen (DK): Beloved Brother # 1: Arioso for guitar (2008)
Martin Ødegaard: Paraphrase à l’après-midi d’un faune for ensemble (2011)
