Lunch concert by NY Musikk (New Music) with refreshments and the premiere of new work by Jørgen Karlstrom.
Thomas Kjekstad describes Berio’s guitar sequenza as masterful, and a modern classic. With linear, arabesque-like gestures and a variety of strummed chords, virtuosity is in fact employed as an expression in itself. Kjekstad will also perform Anonymous Post, commissioned by the composer Jørgen Karlstrøm. This piece is far closer to the rock music tradition than any other of Karlstrøm’s work. Finally, Grzegorz Miszczyszyn, a young accordionist from Poland, will perform Berio’s Sequenza XIII (Chanson)
