A concert which in many different ways are in close contact with nature.

The astronomer Jan Oort developed a theory postulating the existence of a spherical cloud composed of ice particles, located at the very edge of our solar system. This cloud is said to the be source both of comets and Danish composer Jexper Holmen’s work Oort Cloud. Ultima’s audience will experience these 40 minutes at sunrise, outdoors, surrounded by nature. Like a reverberation, Martin Stig Andersen’s Cosmogyral Echo, a fifteen-minute electro remix of Holmen’s piece, will also be played. Amplification and the choice of instruments also lend Oort Cloud an electronic character. The work will be performed by saxophonist Torben Snekkestad and accordionists Frode Andresen and Frode Haltli. The audience will also hear composer Holmen in conversation with physics professor Bo Sture Skagerstam from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
