The Taxi Take Away pub is known for its radical musical profile, with everything from punk and metal to reggae. What better place for a concert with some of the most radical electronic music from the past fifty years? Unlike the music of many of his contemporaries, Iannis Xenakis’ work shows few signs of having been affected by trends in the rest of the electronic music scene. Already in 1958 with Concret PH, the typical features of Xenakis’ music can be found; a musical mass where stochastic and gradual processes work directly on the material of intensely sonorous, friction-filled sound objects. Composer Asbjørn Blokkum Flø will give an introduction. An abundance of dried and fresh fruit, nuts, vodka and Persian tea will serve as a gastronomical preparation for the meeting with Central-Asian composers here at 1.45pm.
