I Walk The Line intends to explore contemporary notions of space;

Physical, virtual, cultural, technological and social, with a special focus on sound.

Drawing and visual arts culture have often been concerned with the representation of space across artistic and technical histories.

I Walk The Line intends to examine how these concerns continue to be translated and interpreted across diverse contemporary arts practice.

I Walk The Line is part exhibition/Instalation and part performance:

Curators Ross Dalziel and Petr Svarovsky have put together works of numerous artists for the exhibition throughout the Ultima Festival.
The works involved:

Glenn Boulter:Mr Saturn
(SNES ROM file / Video projection & sound, 2011)
Mr Saturn suggests a meeting between the celebrated 16-bit role playing game Earthbound and the works of German writer WG Sebald as the game’s protagonists set off on a carefree walking tour across
a colourful two-dimensional landscape that gradually reveal traces of destruction, reaching far back into the past…

Serina Erfjord & Magnus Oledal:But listen
But listen will be created especially for this exhibition, it consists of a container filled with water. Every now and then a bubble of air burst the water surface, producing the sound. An empty bubble in a cartoon is a wish to communicate the unsayable, in Erfjord / Oledals work the sound comes from the bubble itself, consequently, the communication is only the wish communicate.

Serina Erfjord:Sparkle
A piece of an electrical cord is hanging from the ceiling and emits blue sparks. The loose cable looks as a default in the electrical construction, or as something that someone forgot to remove.

Bob Levene:Past Signal (2011)
Past Signal, is both a performance and installation work that explores our understanding of distance, speed and time by playing around with the different properties and speeds of light and sound. The work looks into how our communication and transportation systems have changed over the last few centuries.

Kristoffer Myskja:Centrifugal Sound Device (2009)
The installation consists of a powerful motor mounted to the floor with the rotating shaft pointing upwards, extended by a metal tube up to the ceiling. On to this rotating column, there is attached a multitude of corrugated tubing, and as the shaft rotates, the tubes starts to howl. The piece is installed in a confined room, with only little space for the viewer to move in between the walls and the spinning column.

Kristoffer Myskja:Giving Back to the Reservoir (2010)
Is a water powered installation placed near a miniature pond/water reservoir. Small buckets are filled with water next to a water wheel, and then transported up to the dam where they are emptied, thus returning the water to its source.

Hans Christian Skovholt:Untitled
The piece consists of a vacuum cleaner sporadically operated by the artist during the exhibition period. The vacuum cleaner then produces a rich sound consisting mostly of very high frequencies.

Markus Soukup:UN SPACE Audio/visual installation (2011)
‘UN SPACE’ explores an ‘in between’ place, a fascinating space in continuous change, which is characterized by a cyclic accessibility relating to forces of gravity.

True Solvang Vevatne and Sara Christensen:Hello… There
The work consists of a drum pedal and a stone. Spectators will be free to use the pedal. Drumming on the stone will occur by interaction. Daily we push buttons while surfing on net based platforms. One can wonder if it at times, could be equally interesting and satisfying, to dunk on a stone.
