The National Museum by Aker Brygge is Norway’s largest art museum, opened in 2022. The museum exhibits art, architecture, and design from the Middle Ages to today, including a significant collection of Norwegian and international art.

Access:
Main entrance from Brynjulf Bulls plass 3 and an additional entrance by the library at Dronning Mauds gate 2, as well as access via the café and shop from the museum square on the 1st floor.

Public transport:
The museum is centrally located near Aker Brygge, with excellent public transport connections (tram, metro, bus, train).

Parking:
There are 4 accessible (HC) parking spaces in Dokkveien, on the side of the museum facing Aker Brygge. There is no general parking at the museum.

  • Accessibility:
    The museum is built in accordance with current universal design standards, with step-free access and elevators to all public areas.
    You may use your own wheelchair in the museum, and wheelchairs are available for loan by contacting the reception/lobby.
    The rooftop terrace (3rd floor) and the sunken garden (2nd floor) are accessible but require elevator access for wheelchair or stroller users.
  • Seating:
    There is ample seating throughout the exhibitions and in designated rest areas.
  • Toilets:
    Cloakroom and restrooms are located on the lower ground floor (–1), as well as inside the exhibition areas on all three floors.
  • Tickets:
    Free companion tickets are available.
