New York composer Missy Mazzoli gives insight into her opera The Listeners
Her apocalyptic imagination has created music for orchestras, chamber groups, and TV/film soundtracks for Amazon TV among others.
The Listeners will be world premiered during Ultima on Saturday September 23rd. It is an opera about our desperate desire to belong to a community, and the dangerous power of charismatic leaders.
