To open this year’s festival we are delighted to welcome British writer and broadcaster Kate Molleson to discuss themes in the work of Iannis Xenakis, whose Oresteia is the main work at the festival’s opening concert.
Kate Molleson is a classical and contemporary music presenter on BBC Radio 3 and is the author of Sound Within Sound: Opening Our Ears to the 20th Century (2022), a new history of contemporary music that was described in the Guardian as ‘a clever and accessible collection of essays’.
Ultima artistic director Thorbjørn Tønder Hansen will join Kate and host Rob Young to dive into the many threads that run through this year’s events.
